June 2010 - We are very pleased to announce that Rich Waddell, formerly of ELECT-PC, has joined PowerComm Engineering and UC Synergetic, effective April 1st.  Rich brings over twenty-five years of transmission and substation design experience to the company, having past experience with SCE&G and Black & Veatch.  Rich is an electrical engineering graduate of The Citadel, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in six states.  He brings with him a staff of employees that includes two engineers (John Paddock and James Raymond, both with degrees from the University of South Carolina), a CAD Operator (Lawrence Lee) and a Senior Technologist (Rollis Smith) who specializes in Civil 3D.  Rich and his staff will remain in Columbia, South Carolina, comprising the fourth PowerComm office in the Southeast.

As a Regional Director at PowerComm, Rich will run the Columbia operation and be tasked with continuing our growth in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.  His vast technical and leadership abilities will help us accelerate our growth and solidify our place as a premier engineering firm in the electric utility market.

May 2009 - PowerComm recently contributed an article for Energy Pulse, Energy Central’s forum for power industry professionals. The contribution, “Justifying Static Thermal Line Rating Parameters”, was published on May 20, 2009. The article discusses climatological data availability, data correlation, and verification of rating parameters based on statistical assessment of weather risk.

February 2009 - PowerComm continues a tradition of Southeastern Electric Exchange (SEE) Conference sponsorship as a Silver Sponsor of the 2009 SEE Conference, June 10-12, in Atlanta, GA. Look for PowerComm personnel in attendance at the conference.

January 2009 - PowerComm starts 2009 ready to assist customers throughout the United States with offices in Tampa, Raleigh, and Birmingham.
