July 2008 - PowerComm is excited to have Eddie Taylor join our company as a Senior Consulting Engineer in our Raleigh office. Eddie has more than thirty years of design experience. He started in the consulting business early in his career, and then worked with various aspects of transmission line design at Progress Energy for more than twenty-five years. His involvement has included design, feasibility, routing, environmental, and procurement. Eddie has transmission line experience with voltages ranging from 69kV to 500kV. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
April 2008 - PowerComm opens Birmingham branch! - PowerComm is pleased to welcome Shawn Greene as a new Project Engineer with the company. He will help develop our new Birmingham, Alabama office, as well as provide design services to our clients throughout the southeast. Shawn has several years of progressive engineering experience, having worked in the engineering consulting business for the past eight years. He has been involved in the design of transmission lines ranging from 46kV to 230kV, and is very skilled in the use various line design software packages. Shawn has an engineering degree from Auburn University.
February 2008 - PowerComm to sponsor the 2008 Southeastern Electric Exchange E&O meeting in New Orleans – From the beginning, PowerComm has been a sponsor and active participant of this popular annual event.
January 2008 - PowerComm Moves into New Raleigh Office: PowerComm Engineering, Inc., has expanded its Raleigh, North Carolina operations with a new office near downtown Raleigh. The stand-alone, 2,200 square foot building in the heart of Raleigh will serve as our “Mid-Atlantic Regional Headquarters”, providing more space for company growth, and placing more employees closer to our clients in the mid-atlantic and northeast. Our new office opens as PowerComm continues to grow as a leader in providing advanced energy solutions for electric utility and telecommunication applications. With the opening of our new office, PowerComm welcomes the newest addition to our team, Chas McMillan, as an Engineering Technician. He will be assisting with consulting projects and supporting our expanded Raleigh operations. Chas is a 2005 graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS/BA in Computer Information Systems.
